Heat strengthened glass conforming to ASTM C1048 kind HS where impact rating not required but added thermal stress resistance is. Laminated glass conforming to ASTM C1172 with polyvinyl butyral interlayer of thickness shown on drawings (typical 0.030 inch interlayer for safety, 0.060 inch for security, 0.090 inch for hurricane impact). 3.01 Examination

Verify that frame members are plumb, square, and properly anchored. Verify that openings are sized correctly and free of dirt, sealant residue, or debris. Notify architect in writing of unsatisfactory conditions before proceeding. Proceeding implies acceptance of substrate condition.
3.02 Glazing Installation
Install glass per GANA Glazing Manual and per glass manufacturer written instructions. Set setting blocks at quarter points of glass length. Apply glazing tape continuously around perimeter with no breaks. Center glass in opening with edge clearances per manufacturer recommendations and minimum 3/16 inch all around for typical commercial glazing. Press glass into bedding tape uniformly. Install removable stops or cap beads to manufacturer torque specification. Wet seal joints with weatherseal silicone tooled to a concave profile.
3.03 Cleaning and Protection
Remove glazing materials, dust, and stains from finished surfaces. Clean glass on both sides immediately after installation per manufacturer recommended cleaner. Protect installed glass from subsequent construction activity using removable markers, tape, or barriers. Replace glass that is broken, chipped, cracked, abraded, or damaged in any way prior to acceptance by owner at substantial completion. Replacement glass is part of glazing contractor scope, no extra charge.
