Sizing

Cut to any size

Stock mirrors come in a handful of sizes. Your wall doesn’t. We cut mirror to whatever size you need, with the edge finish you want.

We cut and fabricate mirror in our own shop on Fremont, so a custom size is the normal job, not a special order. Bevel work we send to a specialist, with a fast turnaround. Tell us the dimensions and we’ll cut it. A standard cut-to-size mirror runs about a week. Vendor delivery drives the schedule, so we confirm a firm date at measure. We stock mirror in 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″. We haven’t found a size we can’t handle yet.

Glass options

Mirror types

Not all mirror is the same glass. Here’s what we cut.

  • Plate. The standard clear mirror. Bright and true.
  • Beveled. An angled, polished border that catches the light. The dressed-up look.
  • Antiqued. Aged, mottled glass for a warmer, older feel.
  • Tinted. Bronze or gray mirror that softens the reflection and warms a room.
  • Safety-backed. A backing film that holds the pieces together if the mirror breaks. Code-required in some spots.

Applications

Where they go

  • Wall mirrors. Living rooms, entries, dining walls.
  • Gym and studio walls. Full-wall mirror for home gyms and dance studios. See Gym Mirrors.
  • Bathroom vanities. Cut to the counter, framed or frameless. See Bathroom Mirrors.
  • Closet and wardrobe doors. Mirrored doors that open the room up.

Closet doors

Mirrored closet doors

A mirrored closet door does two jobs: it hides the closet and it makes the room feel twice the size.

We supply and fit the mirror for sliding, bifold and pivot closet doors. If a panel is cracked, we replace the mirror in the door you have.

Edge finishes

Edge work and finishing

The edge is where a custom mirror looks custom. Most people don’t know these are choices, so we show them.

  • Polished. A smooth, clear edge. The clean standard.
  • Seamed. A lightly ground edge, safe to handle, for a mirror going into a frame.
  • Beveled. The angled, polished border, a decorative look. Bevel work goes to a specialist we use, with a fast turnaround, so you get it without a long wait.

FAQ

Custom mirrors FAQ

Do you make custom mirrors?
Yes, cut to whatever size you need. Wall mirrors, gym and studio walls, bathroom vanities, mirrored closet doors. Tell us the dimensions and the edge you want, polished, beveled or seamed, and we’ll cut it. We haven’t found a size we can’t handle yet. We’re licensed, Nevada C-8 unlimited #0004490A, and rated 4.9 stars across 400+ Google reviews.
Can you cut a mirror to my exact size?
Yes. That’s most of what we do. Give us the width and height, and the edge finish you want, and we cut it to fit. If it’s going into a frame or an opening, measure the opening and we’ll size the mirror to sit right.
How thick should a wall mirror be?
As a rule, a small mirror can run thinner, but a large wall or gym mirror wants thicker glass so it stays flat and doesn’t distort the reflection. We’ll tell you the right thickness for the size when you send dimensions. We stock 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ mirror, the smaller sizes for framed and cabinet mirrors, 1/4″ and up for a wall or gym mirror that has to stay flat.
Can you install a mirror over tile?
Yes. Tile just changes how we mount it. We use the right adhesive and anchors for a tiled or uneven wall so the mirror sits flat and holds. Tell us the wall surface when you call so we bring the right hardware.
How long does a custom mirror take?
A standard cut-to-size mirror runs about a week. Vendor delivery drives the schedule, so we confirm a firm date at measure. Beveled edges add time, because that work goes to a specialist, and tint or a large piece take longer too. We give you the real turnaround when you send your dimensions.
