Yes. Glass wine rooms and wine cellars are one of our specialty residential installations. We design and install frameless glass wall systems, glass doors, and custom enclosures that showcase your wine collection while providing climate separation from the rest of the home.

What glass is used for wine room enclosures?

Wine room glass walls use tempered glass, typically 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch, in frameless or aluminum-framed configurations. For climate control purposes, we can also use insulated glass panels that provide better thermal separation. The right spec depends on how serious your temperature control requirements are.

Do glass wine rooms maintain temperature?

A glass enclosure provides visual separation but not as much thermal insulation as an insulated wall. For serious wine storage with tight temperature control, we specify insulated glass units and pay close attention to door seals and frame seals to minimize heat transfer. We work with your HVAC setup to make sure the glass system supports your climate goals.

Can a glass wine room be built in an existing home?

Yes. We install glass wine room enclosures in existing homes regularly. We assess the space, design the enclosure, and install without major construction. Most residential wine room installations are completed in two to four days.

What door options are available for glass wine rooms?

The glass box around your wine

A wine room enclosure is a wall of glass and a glass door that closes off a display while you still see straight into it. We fabricate and set the glass; the racking and, if it’s a chilled room, the refrigeration are handled by others.

Frameless walls. Clear glass set in slim channels for the most open view of the bottles.
Glass doors. A swing or sliding glass door with the hardware to match.
Clear, low-iron glass. Low-iron glass drops the green tint of standard glass, so the labels read true.

If it’s a chilled room

What the glass does and doesn’t do

If the room is cooled, the glass is part of holding that temperature, not the thing that makes it. Insulated units and good seals slow the heat coming in, which helps the cooling system keep up, but the glass doesn’t refrigerate. We’ll spec insulated glass and seal the enclosure properly, and we coordinate with whoever’s doing the cooling so the two work together.

We measure the opening, fabricate the glass and door, and install the enclosure. It’s our own glass scope, self-performed, and we cut in our own shop. The wall systems are the same ones on our glass partitions and office enclosures pages, tuned here for a wine display.

Does the glass keep the wine cold?

Not on its own. If the room is chilled, insulated glass and tight seals help hold the temperature so the cooling system can keep up, but the refrigeration itself is a separate trade. We build and seal the glass enclosure and coordinate with the cooling.

Can I see the bottles clearly through it?

Yes, and low-iron glass makes it better. Standard glass has a faint green tint that low-iron glass removes, so the labels and the wall read true. We’ll show you the difference.

Frameless or framed?

Most wine rooms go frameless for the clearest view. Framed is an option where you want more structure or a specific look. We’ll match it to the space.

Can you fit one into an existing nook or closet?
